word of advice...

when your jte tells you that it's ok to `dress in any clothes you want,` he really means `you better still get your arse in teacher's clothes.`

there's that japanese subtlety heh.

so why do you ask i mention this?

well because i wore blue jeans, a t-shirt, flip flops, and to top it all off, a baseball cap... backwards no less. but! there was a good reason, or at least i like to tell myself that.

i took half the day off, and got to school around 11:30, and then i had to leave and head to the rose theater around 2 to setup for the culture festival tomorrow! so see? i was only at school for 2.5 hrs! even though i also happened to get there as my students walked by... and my two jte's... and some other teachers i know... and this was one of the conversations heh:

yamaguchi sensei: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
me: good afternoon yamaguchi sensei.
y: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
m: ...
y; hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
m: ...

[this goes on for a few more minutes]

m: what's so funny...?
y: you (with my backwards hat on) look like a highschool drop out!
m: ...
y: i don't know if they'll let you into the rose theater, or even into the teachers room looking like that...
m: but this is what i normally wear...
y: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
m: so what should i do?
y: you should hide from akimoto sensei (vice principal)... actually let's go into the staff room and see what happens!
m: ...
y: :D

mmm so i went into the staff room. for the last time.

well ok, more of a super-covert-mission-impossible-I-style entrance.

objective; to make sure the vice principal was not there.
method: to make it to my desk, undetected, and hide my pants.
level of difficulty: 7/10 - hard not to notice the foreigner... let alone the tallest person at my school.

this entry will self destruct in 10 seconds.
